Green water treated on site
Algae-choked water dosed, tested and corrected on site until the pond ran clear again.

Koi ponds, koi fish and koi food. We're based in pretoria east, and after more than 20 years we've made keeping a beautiful pond simple and fun.
New pond design, filter sizing, pump selection and water preparation done right from day one.
On-site ammonia, nitrite, nitrate, pH and KH checks with same-day feedback and action plans.
Scheduled cleaning, filter servicing, water changes and health checks to keep your pond stable.
Rapid response for sick koi, pump failures, green water blooms and other urgent pond problems.
Keeping a beautiful koi pond can be challenging. It doesn't have to be.
Crystal clear water is impossible without a perfectly working filtration system. We design, correct and service biological and mechanical filtration built for Highveld conditions.
Serious issues are often not visible until it's too late. Regular health checks, water testing and pump servicing catch problems long before your koi do.
Koi grow faster and colour up more vibrantly on the correct nutrients for the weather and the season. We supply and schedule premium feed year-round.

Healthy water is invisible work.
Filtration, water chemistry and feeding, managed week after week — so all you ever see is colour moving under clear water.
Weekly care from R2 750 a month, right up to full management with an automatic feeder and twice-weekly visits.

We run the pond for you

Algae-choked water dosed, tested and corrected on site until the pond ran clear again.

Correctly sized mechanical and biological stages, new plumbing and UV — clear water without chemicals.

Quarantined fish acclimatised slowly and released by hand into a settled collection.

Fish netted, scoped under the microscope on site and treated before a parasite becomes an outbreak.
“When we started keeping koi we had no clue. Gert was always just a phone call away. As the hobby grew and our requirements became more demanding, Gert was always ready with advice and support. Whether you are a serious koi keeper or just starting out, Gert is someone I will recommend without hesitation.”
“Gert first helped us with our koi pond over 2 years ago. We bought a house with a sad, neglected koi pond. Gert helped us fix the pond and filtration system, add new fish (some from Japan) and now we have a healthy pond full of happy, beautiful koi. Thank you Gert.”
“I bought a house with a koi pond and had no idea what to do. I wanted to manage the pond myself, so Gert helped me do that. He came to my house every week to make sure everything was fine and he was always available on the phone if I had any questions.”
Straight answers to the questions we hear most often from new and experienced koi keepers in Pretoria.
We test water parameters at every weekly visit. For ponds without a maintenance plan, we recommend a full test at least once a month in summer and every six weeks in winter — more often if you notice cloudy water, lethargic fish or unusual algae growth.
A standard visit covers water testing, filter inspection and cleaning, pump and UV checks, debris removal, a visual health check on your koi, and feeding guidance. We also note anything that may need attention before the next visit.
Our entry-level weekly plan starts at R2 750 per month. Entry + Food is R6 500 per month, and full pond management with an automatic feeder and twice-weekly visits is R17 500 per month. Exact pricing depends on pond size, filtration and fish load.
We start with a full pond assessment: water tests, filter review, fish health check and a discussion of your goals. You'll receive a clear report and a recommended plan — no pressure, no hidden costs.
Yes. Premium koi food is included in our Entry + Food and Full Management packages. We can also recommend and supply the right feed for your fish if you prefer to feed them yourself.
Green water is usually a free-floating algae bloom caused by excess nutrients and strong sunlight. It is rarely harmful to koi, but it hides your fish. We correct it by balancing filtration, nutrient load and shade — usually without harsh chemicals.
Not always. Many ponds have adequate filters that are simply undersized, wrongly configured or not cleaned correctly. We assess your setup first and only recommend upgrades when they will make a real difference.
We offer expert advice for free and we're usually available immediately. If not, we'll get back to you within 24 hours.
